32GB DDR3 ECC Registered Kit

Suits D20 owners filling every slot

The kit matches the ThinkStation D20 models 4155, 4158 and 4218-xxx and supports the platform maximum of 48GB with Registered ECC modules. Buyers who need unbuffered ECC memory should look elsewhere because mixing registered and unbuffered modules is not supported. Systems limited to 24GB with UDIMMs cannot use this capacity. The modules automatically clock down to 1066MHz or 800MHz depending on the installed Xeon processor.

With all six sockets per dual-CPU configuration occupied, the registered buffer reduces electrical load on the memory controller during sustained workloads. ECC correction operates continuously without the overhead of software parity checks. The 1.5V operating voltage remains stable across the 1333MHz, 1066MHz and 800MHz operating points that the platform selects. No heat spreader is fitted, so airflow across the DIMMs handles thermal management.
