Dense 1U rack server for virtualization

The Dell EMC PowerEdge R440 is a compact 1U rack server built for dense data centre environments. Two Intel Xeon Silver 4114 processors deliver twenty cores at 2.2 GHz with 3.0 GHz turbo for business applications. Sixteen gigabytes of DDR4-2400 ECC registered memory supports reliable operation. Eight 960 GB SATA solid state drives connect through a PERC H730P controller with two gigabyte cache and battery backup.

Dual 550 watt platinum supplies share load

Redundant 550 watt platinum efficiency power supplies handle normal operation with headroom for the dual processor configuration. The 1U form factor uses front-to-rear airflow across the eight 2.5 inch drive bays and system board. Integrated dual port gigabit ethernet and iDRAC 9 Express remote management operate within the same thermal envelope without additional expansion cards.

Eight bay 2.5 inch chassis

The 1U chassis provides eight hot-plug 2.5 inch drive bays populated with enterprise SATA solid state drives. PERC H730P supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, 60 and pass-through modes for storage configuration flexibility. PCIe expansion slots remain available for additional networking or storage controllers. iDRAC 9 Express enables remote deployment and monitoring without physical rack access. Front bezel and ready rails are not included.
