The Dell PowerEdge T440 is a 5U rack server equipped with two Intel Xeon Silver 4214 processors, each running at 2.2 GHz with a 3.2 GHz turbo frequency and 12 cores. Sixteen gigabytes of DDR4-2400 ECC registered memory are installed across two modules, leaving fourteen slots open for expansion up to one terabyte. The system targets virtualization, database hosting and file storage workloads that benefit from high core counts and large memory capacity.

Thermals and redundant 750 W power

Two hot-swap 750 W platinum-efficiency power supplies provide full redundancy, allowing one unit to fail or be replaced without downtime. The 5U chassis accommodates sixteen 2.5-inch hot-swap drive bays, giving ample airflow space for the dual-processor configuration under sustained load. A Dell PERC H330 12 Gb/s SAS/SATA storage controller manages the internal drive bays and supports RAID levels suitable for database and file workloads. Four 2.5-inch drive trays are included so storage can be populated immediately; the remaining twelve bays accept additional trays. The integrated dual-port Gigabit Ethernet adapter handles baseline network connectivity, while PCI Express slots remain available for further RAID, networking or GPU expansion.
