Precision 3650 workstation for professionals

The Dell Precision 3650 is a mid-tower workstation built for CAD design, 3D modelling, engineering applications and financial analysis. It ships new with Windows 11 Pro, an Intel Core i7-11700K 8-core processor reaching 5.0 GHz turbo, 32 GB of DDR4 3200 memory in a 4 x 8 GB configuration, a 2 TB PCIe NVMe SSD and an Nvidia Quadro P2200 graphics card with 5 GB GDDR5 and four DisplayPort 1.4 outputs.

Straightforward setup with workstation constraints

The system arrives fully assembled so installation is limited to connecting peripherals and network cables. The 460 W 80PLUS Gold power supply is fixed to the chassis and uses proprietary Dell connectors, so swapping it for a standard ATX unit is not possible. The Quadro P2200 occupies a full-height PCIe slot and draws power from the motherboard without auxiliary cables. Memory slots use unbuffered DDR4 DIMMs; ECC modules are supported by the platform but are not installed in this configuration.

Verify expansion space

The mid-tower chassis limits graphics card length and dual-slot cooler clearance, so longer or taller add-in cards may not fit. Four DisplayPort 1.4 outputs are provided on the Quadro; if your monitors require HDMI, DVI or VGA you will need active adapters. The board offers four DDR4 slots with a 128 GB maximum, leaving two slots free for future upgrades. Integrated Intel I219-LM Gigabit Ethernet handles wired networking; no Wi-Fi or Bluetooth hardware is included.
