This 16GB DDR4 ECC Registered RDIMM is built for Lenovo ThinkAgile HX1520-R, HX1521-R, HX2320-E and HX2720-E servers. It replaces Lenovo part numbers 01AG618, 4X70P98202 and 7X77A01303. The module suits administrators who need to expand memory capacity in these specific platforms. It is not for desktop PCs or consumer laptops that require unbuffered non-ECC memory.

DDR4 2666MHz Registered Limits

The module runs at 2666MHz with CL19 latency at 1.2V and is backward compatible with 2133MHz and 2400MHz bus speeds. Registered ECC architecture adds a clock cycle for command buffering, so it cannot be mixed with unbuffered DIMMs in the same channel. Systems must support registered ECC DDR4; standard desktop chipsets will not recognise the module.

Simple Slot Installation

Installation follows the standard 288-pin DIMM procedure: align the notch, press firmly until the latches click, and verify population order in the server service guide. The most common issue is inserting registered ECC memory into a board that only accepts unbuffered DIMMs, which prevents boot. Another frequent error is mixing this 2Rx8 module with different rank configurations in the same channel.
