The Solidigm D7-P5520 provides 7.68TB of storage in a U.2 15mm form factor built for read-intensive data-centre workloads. Its 144L TLC 3D NAND and PCI-Express 4.0 x4 interface serve databases, content repositories and virtualisation clusters that demand consistent throughput. The drive carries a 14.0 PBW endurance rating and Opal security for sensitive datasets.
The 15mm z-height fits standard 2.5-inch hot-swap bays and backplanes wired for PCIe 4.0 x4, drawing 5W idle and 18W active. A 2,000,000-hour MTBF and 1,000 G shock tolerance support dense rack deployments where vibration reaches 2.17 GRMS operating and 3.13 GRMS non-operating. Opal encryption offloads key management from the host CPU.
Sequential reads reach 7100 MBps and writes 4200 MBps while random 4KB reads hit 1,100,000 IOPS and writes 220,000 IOPS. Read latency sits at 75µs and write latency at 15µs under steady-state conditions. The controller maintains these figures across the 0°C to 70°C operating range without thermal throttling that would reduce throughput during extended write passes.
