The Synology RS1626xs+ is a 1U rackmount NAS built around an Intel Xeon D-1726 processor and 64GB of DDR4 memory. It ships fully assembled with four 24TB Synology Enterprise drives for 96TB of raw capacity. The platform targets businesses running virtualization, file sharing, backup and surveillance workloads that demand consistent throughput and data integrity.

Dual 10GbE and Expansion Flexibility

Two built-in 10GbE RJ-45 ports provide high-speed network connectivity without add-in cards, while a dedicated out-of-band management LAN port keeps administration separate. Two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports allow direct peripheral attachment. Internal M.2 NVMe slots and a PCIe Gen4 x8 slot remain available for cache acceleration or further I/O expansion, and a compatible Synology expansion unit can scale the system to sixteen drives.

96TB Base Capacity with Headroom to Grow

The four installed 24TB drives deliver 96TB of storage out of the box, suitable for large file repositories, backup targets and video surveillance archives. Empty M.2 slots and the PCIe slot leave room for read-write caching or additional networking. The four-bay chassis itself limits internal drive count to four, so organisations needing more than sixteen total drives must look beyond this form factor.
