Purpose and fit
This adapter lets you install an M.2 Key E module into a full-size or half-size Mini PCIe slot on a laptop or desktop motherboard. It targets users who need to add Wi-Fi, WWAN, GPS or Bluetooth mini-cards to systems that only provide an mPCIe socket. The board carries both PCIe and USB 2.0 signals so the host can communicate with the inserted module.
Upgrade path
It replaces a direct M.2 Key E slot when the platform lacks one, allowing reuse of existing M.2 3030 or 3042 cards. The jump is worthwhile when a laptop or embedded board has a spare mPCIe connector but no native M.2 Key E provision. Intel 9560NGW modules are explicitly not supported, so buyers with that card must choose a different solution.
Installation notes
The green PCB measures 55 by 31 millimetres and weighs about 10 grams, fitting tight spaces without obstruction. A small wrench and four screws are included to secure the M.2 module and the adapter in the mPCIe slot. No drivers are required for the adapter itself; the host operating system only needs drivers for the specific mini-card being installed.
