40Gbps Thunderbolt NVMe enclosure
The Acasis TBU405Pro is a single-bay M.2 NVMe enclosure that connects through a Thunderbolt 3 or 4 port at up to 40Gbps. It accepts 2280 M-key and B+M-key SSDs up to 8TB with tool-free installation and works with Windows, macOS and Linux without driver installation.
Aluminium shell with integrated fan
An aluminium body, thermal pad and built-in cooling fan dissipate heat from the SSD during sustained transfers. The enclosure draws power from the host Thunderbolt connection, so no external power supply is required. Fan noise and thermal behaviour will depend on the drive fitted and workload.
Upgrade from slower USB enclosures
Replacing a USB 3.2, 3.1, 3.0 or 2.0 enclosure with this model raises the interface ceiling to 40Gbps, which matters when moving large video or dataset files. The jump is worth it only if the host has a Thunderbolt 3 or 4 port; on plain USB-C the speed falls back to the host limit.

The enclosure uses a tool-free design; slide the 2280 M-key or B+M-key SSD into the slot until it clicks, then close the aluminum lid. The step often missed is removing the protective film from the thermal pad so it contacts the drive.

The fan is integrated into the aluminum shell and runs from the Thunderbolt bus. If airflow drops, open the lid and clear dust from the fan blades and ventilation holes with compressed air; no user-replaceable fan module is provided.
