The ACTi A820 is a 4 MP outdoor dome camera that combines a 5x optical zoom lens with on-board Deep Learning AI for object detection and classification. It targets installers and security managers who need motorised pan, tilt and rotation plus long-range infrared illumination in a single weather-resistant housing. The camera streams up to 2688 x 1520 at 30 fps using H.265 Adaptive Stream, H.264 Adaptive Stream or MJPEG compression with simultaneous quad-stream support.

10/100 Ethernet limits bandwidth and cable reach

Video and control traffic share a single 10/100 Base-T port on an RJ-45 pigtail, capping throughput at 100 Mbps and restricting PoE power to Class 3 levels. The 100-metre twisted-pair limit applies unless intermediate switches or fibre converters are deployed, and the 12.5 W PoE draw leaves minimal headroom for additional powered devices on the same switch port. IPv4, IPv6 and a full suite of management protocols are supported, but multi-gigabit uplinks are not available.

The dome enclosure is built for outdoor mounting and carries an IR LED array rated to 85 m, while Extreme WDR at 150 dB handles high-contrast scenes down to 0.003 lux colour sensitivity. Pan covers 0°-355°, tilt 0°-75° and rotation 0°-355°, allowing flexible aiming after installation. The RJ-45 pigtail requires a weatherproof junction box or gland for cable entry, and two-way audio via line-in and line-out uses PCM, G.711 or G.726 codecs. IEEE 802.1X and TLS 1.2 secure the network interface.
