The Dell PowerEdge M640 is a half-height blade server that fits into PowerEdge MX and M1000e chassis. Two Intel Xeon Gold 6230 processors provide 20 cores each at 2.10 GHz with 3.9 GHz turbo. Thirty-two gigabytes of DDR4 registered ECC memory occupy four of the sixteen available slots.

Suits virtualization clusters; not for GPU workloads

This configuration targets virtualization, private cloud and high-performance computing where CPU density matters.
