The Dell PowerEdge R650xs is a 1U rack server built for dense compute workloads. It ships with two Intel Xeon Silver 4314 processors, each running at 2.4 GHz with 16 cores and a 3.4 GHz turbo frequency. The system includes 128 GB of DDR4 2666 MHz registered ECC memory across eight DIMM slots. Ten 960 GB SATA SSDs are installed in the front 2.5-inch drive bays.

Verify rack depth and power phase before ordering

Confirm that your rack enclosure provides enough depth for a 1U server with sliding rails and front bezel. The unit requires two 1400 W platinum power supplies fed from separate circuits for full redundancy. Ensure your PDU or UPS delivers the correct voltage and connector type for these supplies. Network uplinks use a Broadcom 5720 quad-port 1 GbE OCP 3.0 card, so check switch port availability and cabling.

Integrates with Dell management and storage

The PERC H745 controller with 4 GB NV cache manages RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 across the ten SSDs, freeing the CPUs for application threads. iDRAC 9 Enterprise provides out-of-band remote management, firmware updates and telemetry without an OS. The OCP 3.0 slot is occupied by the quad-port NIC, leaving no room for an additional OCP card. Memory capacity can scale to 1 TB using the remaining DDR4 slots.
