The Dell PowerEdge R730xd is a 2U rack server equipped with two Intel Xeon E5-2660 v4 processors. Each CPU runs at 2.0 GHz with a 3.2 GHz turbo frequency and provides 14 cores. The system targets midsize and large enterprises running data warehouses, e-commerce platforms, virtual desktop infrastructure, databases or high-performance computing data nodes.

128GB DDR4 Memory and 800GB SSD Storage

The server ships with 128 GB of DDR4 2400 MHz registered ECC memory installed across eight 16 GB modules. Twenty-four memory slots support a maximum capacity of 1.5 TB. Two 800 GB SATA 6 Gb/s 2.5-inch enterprise SSDs are installed and managed by a PERC H730 1 GB controller that supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60.

12 Gb/s SAS/SATA Controller and Quad-Port Networking

The H730 controller operates at 12 Gb/s for both SAS and SATA drives. Network connectivity comes from an Intel X520/I350 daughter card providing two 1 GbE ports and two 10 Gb SFP+ ports. Dual 750 W platinum power supplies and iDRAC 8 Enterprise remote management complete the platform.
