SAS interface limits drive speed to 12 Gb/s

The Smart Array P440 controller with 4 GB flash-backed write cache connects to sixteen 2.5-inch SAS bays. Two 1 TB 7.2 K RPM drives are installed and the backplane supports up to 12 Gb/s SAS, though the supplied drives operate at 6 Gb/s. The controller handles RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60.

Maximum memory capped at 48 GB with one CPU

Although the chassis provides 24 DIMM slots and the platform supports up to 3 TB of DDR4, the installed processor and memory configuration limit usable capacity to 48 GB. Adding a second Xeon E5-2600 v3 or v4 processor unlocks the remaining slots and higher totals.
