Replacing Dell Parts

The stick replaces Dell part numbers A6996789 and SNPMGY5TC/16G in the supported appliances. It upgrades capacity when the original configuration shipped with smaller registered DIMMs or when empty slots are available. The jump is worth it only for servers that already accept DDR3 registered ECC memory; it will not work in unbuffered desktop boards.
