128GB DDR4 2933 ECC RDIMM for ThinkAgile

This OWC 2R9D48R4128G module delivers 128GB of DDR4 2933 registered ECC memory in a single 288-pin DIMM. It is built for Lenovo ThinkAgile HX7520, HX7521, HX7820, VX 1U and VX 2U systems running second-generation Xeon processors. The 8Rx4 organisation and 1.2V operation meet server-class requirements for data integrity and capacity density.

Upgrade from lower-capacity or slower DDR4 RDIMMs

The module replaces smaller registered DIMMs or slower PC4-23400, 2133, 2400 and 2666MHz sticks while keeping full JEDEC compliance. The jump is worth it when workloads demand maximum rank density per slot and error-correcting code protection without mixing buffered, unbuffered or load-reduced types. It will not fit standard desktop platforms or systems that require unbuffered memory.

Sustained load behaviour in multi-DIMM

Registered signalling and on-die ECC maintain signal integrity when all channels are populated at 2933MHz CL21. The 1.2V design limits thermal output during continuous compute or virtualisation tasks, and the lack of a heat spreader relies on chassis airflow for cooling. Backward compatibility with lower speeds allows stable operation if the platform downclocks under heavy sustained utilisation.
