Practical limits of the SATA interface

Each target drive connects over SATA, so the duplicator's peak write rates are bound by the media specifications rather than the bus. DVD-R reaches 24X, DVD+R and DVD+R DL reach 12X, DVD-R DL reaches 12X, DVD+RW reaches 8X and DVD-RW reaches 6X. CD-R writes at 40X and CD-RW at 32X. Actual throughput will vary with disc quality and the number of simultaneous targets. The unit also converts automatically between DVD+R/RW and DVD-R/RW formats during copying.
