10TB helium-sealed enterprise drive

The Toshiba MG06ACA10TE is a 10TB 3.5" internal hard drive built for enterprise storage workloads. It runs at 7200 RPM with a 256MB cache and connects through a SATA 6.0Gb/s interface. The helium-sealed nine-disk design increases storage density while reducing power draw and vibration.

Upgrade from smaller air-filled drives

This model replaces lower-capacity air-filled drives when a single-bay upgrade to 10TB is needed. The jump is worth it for arrays that require higher density without adding spindles. Larger 12TB and 14TB models exist in the same series for workloads that need even more capacity per slot.

SATA 6.0Gb/s interface ceiling

Sequential throughput is limited by the SATA 6.0Gb/s link, so sustained reads and writes cannot exceed that bus ceiling. Random I/O performance is bound by 7200 RPM rotational latency and the 256MB buffer size. The 512e sector format ensures compatibility with legacy operating systems and controllers.
