This Adafruit Mini Illuminated Momentary Pushbutton adds a tactile switch with a built-in LED and a universal power symbol to your project. It snaps into a standard breadboard for quick prototyping. The switch is rated for 12V and 50mA while the LED draws about 10mA. It suits hobbyists and engineers building custom control panels.

Momentary action requires external LED control

The button is momentary, not a latching on-off switch, so it only closes the circuit while pressed. The LED is electrically separate from the switch contacts and includes no current-limiting resistor. You must add a roughly 1K resistor and drive the LED from a microcontroller pin or other source. The cathode is the pin nearest the line half of the power symbol.

Simple breadboard install with wiring caveats

The 9.8mm diameter body fits a breadboard directly and the 8mm height keeps a low profile. Installation is straightforward, but forgetting the external resistor will damage the LED. Wiring the LED polarity incorrectly will also prevent it from lighting. Builders needing a maintained on-off switch or a pre-wired indicator should choose a different component.
