The JacobsParts XL6009 module converts a lower DC input into a higher regulated output for electronics projects. It accepts 4 to 32 volts input and delivers 5 to 35 volts at up to 2 amps. The board suits hobbyists and engineers building custom power rails from batteries or automotive sources. Output must always exceed input voltage.
The integrated XL6009 IC includes over-temperature and over-current protection for continuous operation. Efficiency reaches up to 94 percent depending on the voltage differential between input and output. Switching runs at 400 kilohertz with output ripple below 50 millivolts and load regulation within 0.5 percent. The potentiometer may require up to 15 turns before the output voltage begins to change.
The PCB-mount form factor measures 40 by 20 by 12 millimetres and handles a maximum of 20 watts. Constant-voltage regulation makes it suitable for LED strips and modules but not for driving raw LEDs directly. Input range stops at 32 volts and output caps at 35 volts, so designs needing higher boost ratios fall outside the device capability.

The XL6009 IC includes over-temperature protection and an integrated MOSFET. At up to 94% efficiency, only a small fraction of the 20 W maximum becomes heat. There are no moving parts, so the module is completely silent in operation.
You need a DC source between 4 V and 32 V — for example a 3.7 V lithium cell or a 12 V battery — plus a multimeter to set the potentiometer, which may require up to 15 turns before the output voltage changes.
The module operates at 400 kHz with output ripple below 50 mV. Sensitive analog circuits on the same rail may pick up switching noise, so add decoupling capacitors or a separate linear regulator for those legacy devices.
