This 32GB registered DIMM targets administrators upgrading Dell PowerEdge 13th generation rack servers. It fits models R430, R530, R630, R630 XL, R730, R730 XL, R730xd, R730xd XL, R830 and R930. The module delivers error-correcting registered memory for workloads that require data integrity. It is not suitable for desktop or laptop platforms that only accept unbuffered non-ECC memory.
The module operates at DDR4 2400 (PC4-19200) with CL17 latency at 1.20V. Registered signalling adds one cycle of buffering, so the memory controller must support registered DIMMs. Mixing registered and load-reduced ECC types is not supported; all installed modules must share the same ECC type. If modules of different speeds are combined, the system runs at the speed of the slowest module.
A single 2Rx4 module provides 32GB of addressable capacity for virtualisation, database or compute tasks. Dual-rank organisation increases density per channel but the platform’s maximum supported memory per socket and per channel still applies. The module has no heat spreader, so airflow within the server chassis must be sufficient for sustained loads.
