The HP ProLiant DL160 Gen9 is a 1U rack server built for general-purpose workloads. It ships with a single Intel Xeon E5-2623v3 quad-core processor at 3 GHz and 32 GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory. The platform supports up to two processors and a maximum of 36 total cores for scalable performance.
The chassis provides eight 2.5-inch SFF drive bays and includes two drive trays with screws. Storage is managed by the onboard B140i software RAID controller, which supports RAID 0, 1 and 5 for SATA drives only. Redundant hot-swap power supplies are fitted, and a universal media bay or two extra SFF bays can be added as options.
A 550 W redundant hot-swap power supply delivers power to the system. The 1U form factor uses internal airflow to cool the CPU, memory and drive cage under normal operating loads. The Matrox G200 graphics controller with 16 MB video memory handles basic console output without adding significant heat.
