The Kingston KC3000 SKC3000D/4096G is a 4096GB internal SSD built for consumer workloads that demand high throughput. It uses the M.2 2280 form factor and connects through a PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe link driven by a Phison E18 controller with 4GB of DRAM cache. 3D TLC memory supports the rated endurance of 3.2PBW and an MTBF of 1,800,000 hours.
A low profile graphene aluminum heat spreader is fitted to the drive to manage temperatures during operation. The controller is specified to run between 0°C and +70°C. Power draw measures 5 mW at idle, 0.36W average active, 2.7W maximum read and 10.2W maximum write, keeping energy use low for a high performance NVMe device.
Under continuous heavy write workloads the heat spreader helps the controller maintain performance without rapid throttling. The drive is rated for 1,000,000 IOPS random read and write alongside 7000 MBps sequential read and write, figures that reflect steady state capability rather than short burst peaks.
