The card draws power from the PCIe interface and requires no external power connector. It targets users who need more high-speed ports for external drives, VR headsets, cameras or charging devices.

Check motherboard slot and driver needs

Verify that your motherboard has a free PCI Express x1, x4, x8 or x16 slot and that the bracket height matches a standard full-height case. Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and Linux require the supplied Renesas or VLI driver from the CD before the ports become active. Windows 10, 11 and Mac OS 10.8.2 or later work without extra drivers. The card is compatible with PCIe 2.0 and 3.0 motherboards.

Driver CD, screws and manual included

The bundle provides a driver CD for legacy operating systems, mounting screws for the bracket and a printed user manual. No external power adapter or internal power cable is supplied because the card is bus-powered. The CD contains the Renesas or VLI USB 3.0 driver required for Windows 7, 8 and Linux installations.
