This ASUS ROG CROSSHAIR X870E HERO motherboard and AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU combo targets enthusiasts building high-performance systems. The AMD AM5 socket supports Ryzen 9000, 8000 and 7000 series processors. The X870E chipset provides PCIe 5.0 connectivity and dual-channel DDR5 memory support up to 256GB across four 288-pin slots.
The robust power solution uses 18+2+2 power stages rated at 110A each, paired with ProCool II connectors, MicroFine alloy chokes and premium metallic capacitors. This design delivers stable current for the included Ryzen 7 9800X3D and headroom for overclocking via AI Overclocking, Dynamic OC Switcher, Core Flex and PBO Enhancement.
Onboard Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) with ASUS WiFi Q-Antenna, Intel 2.5Gb Ethernet and Realtek 5Gb Ethernet provide high-speed networking. Two USB4 40Gbps Type-C ports, eight USB 10Gbps ports, five M.2 slots (three PCIe 5.0, two PCIe 4.0) and ROG SupremeFX 7.1 audio with ALC4082 codec complete the I/O.

With the included Ryzen 7 9800X3D the four DDR5 slots can run memory up to 8200 MT/s when overclocked, delivering high bandwidth for gaming and AI workloads.
The top x16 slot and the first three M.2 slots use PCIe 5.0, so a modern GPU and up to three PCIe 5.0 SSDs each get full x4 or x16 bandwidth without sharing lanes.
The board follows the standard ATX layout with 288-pin DDR5 slots, four SATA ports, five M.2 sockets (2242, 2260, 2280) and rear I/O including two USB4 Type-C ports, so any ATX-compatible case and PSU with 24-pin plus 8-pin CPU power will accommodate it.
