This 64 GB kit contains two 32 GB DDR4 2400 MHz registered DIMMs with ECC and a CL17 timing. It is built for the HP Compaq Workstation Z840 and runs at 1.2 V on major-brand chipsets. The modules are unbuffered by a heat spreader and use a 2Rx4 organisation.

The Z840 supports up to 512 GB of registered ECC RDIMMs across 16 slots when two CPUs are installed. Adding this kit increases capacity while keeping the registered ECC topology the platform requires. If the installed processor only supports 1866 MHz the memory will clock down automatically to match the CPU capability.

Tool-free DIMM installation with channel rules

Installation is a simple press into the 288-pin slots, but the Z840 uses white DIMM slots to mark the first slot of each channel. For one DIMM per channel populate only the white slots.
