The HP ProLiant DL360 Gen9 is a 1U rack server fitted with a single Intel Xeon E5-2620 v3 six-core processor running at 2.4 GHz and 8 GB of DDR4 memory. It targets organisations that need dense compute in a single rack unit for virtualization, web hosting or general-purpose workloads. The B140i controller provides software RAID for SATA drives only.

Thermals and power

Dual hot-swap 500 W redundant power supplies share the load and keep the system running if one unit fails. The 1U chassis uses managed airflow across the processor and 24 DIMM slots to maintain thermal limits under typical utilisation. Fan speed ramps with inlet temperature and CPU demand, so acoustic output rises only when the workload requires it.

Build integration

Eight 2.5-inch SFF drive bays accept SATA or SAS media; two trays with screws are supplied but no drives are installed. The B140i controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10 across those bays. A second processor can be added to unlock the remaining 12 DIMM slots and raise the core count to 12 physical cores. No operating system is included.
