Redundant 500 W hot-swap power supplies slide in from the rear without tools. Memory population follows a 12-slots-per-processor rule, so adding a second CPU unlocks the remaining 12 DIMM slots. The B140i does not support SAS or NVMe devices, so only SATA media can be used in the standard bays.

Deciding specification

Maximum memory capacity is 96 GB with the single processor installed; reaching the 3 TB platform limit requires the second CPU and 64 GB DIMMs. Buyers who need more than 96 GB of RAM or hardware RAID with SAS support should choose a different configuration.
