This kit provides 256 GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory in two 128 GB modules. It is built for the Dell PowerEdge C4140 with SkyLake processors. Workstations and servers that require registered DIMMs are the intended platforms. Standard desktop computers cannot use this memory.

Registered DIMM form factor

The 288-pin registered design adds a buffer that stabilises heavy memory loads in multi-socket servers. ECC circuitry detects and corrects single-bit errors to protect data integrity. Modules operate at 1.2 V without a heat spreader. They cannot be mixed with unbuffered or load-reduced DIMMs.
