The Team Group MP44Q is a 4TB M.2 2280 internal SSD that uses a PCIe 4.0 x4 interface with NVMe 1.4 protocol. It is built with 3D QLC NAND and operates without a DRAM cache by using HMB. The drive includes a graphene heat-dissipation label and supports Windows, Linux and common consumer platforms.
The single specification that determines suitability is the 3D QLC NAND paired with SLC caching. QLC stores four bits per cell for high capacity at low cost, while the SLC cache absorbs write bursts at up to 7400 MBps read and 6200 MBps write. Once the cache fills, write throughput drops to the native QLC rate, so workloads with large, continuous writes must be evaluated against this behaviour.
Under sustained load the graphene label spreads heat across the controller and NAND without adding thickness that could interfere with tight laptop or NUC slots. The drive is rated for 0 °C to 70 °C operating temperature and 2000 TBW endurance. MTBF is 1,600,000 hours. The label keeps temperatures in check during long transfers, preventing thermal throttling that would otherwise reduce sequential write performance.
