This 32GB DDR5 registered ECC module is built for 16th Gen Dell PowerEdge rack and tower servers including the T560, R660, R660xs, R6615, R6625, R760, R760xa, R760xd2, R760xs, R7615, R7625, R860 and R960. It delivers 4800MHz speed with CL40 latency at 1.10V. The dual-rank 2Rx8 organisation uses major-brand chips on a 288-pin PCB without a heat spreader.
Registered ECC memory requires a server platform that supports registered DIMMs and EC8 error correction; it will not function in desktop or laptop boards that accept only unbuffered non-ECC modules. Mixing speeds is possible but the system clocks all modules to the slowest installed speed. The module operates at the standard 1.1V DDR5 voltage.
The single specification that determines compatibility is the 32GB 2Rx8 EC8 RDIMM form factor; only systems qualified for this exact registered ECC configuration will recognise and run the module correctly. Buyers needing non-ECC unbuffered memory for consumer platforms cannot use this part.
