This 64GB kit contains eight 8GB registered DDR4 modules built for Dell PowerEdge 13th generation rack servers. It targets administrators who need to expand memory capacity in R430, R530, R630, R730, R730xd, R830 or R930 platforms. The modules run at 2400MHz with CL17 latency and 1.20V operation.
Each stick uses a 288-pin DDR4 form factor and a 1Rx4 organisation, so the memory controller sees one rank per module. Registered buffering and ECC protect data integrity in multi-socket server workloads. No heat spreaders are fitted, allowing dense DIMM stacking in the supported chassis.
Adding this kit avoids the speed penalty of mixing different module speeds, because the system clocks to the slowest installed DIMM. It also prevents the instability caused by mixing registered and load-reduced ECC types. The jump is worth it when current memory limits virtualization density or database buffer pools.
