The graphite heat sink helps sustain performance by keeping the controller within its 0°C to 70°C operating range.

The drive is backward compatible and will run at PCIe 3.0 x4 speeds on an older slot, capping sequential throughput at roughly half the rated 5200/4700 MB/s while retaining full NVMe protocol support.
