The Kingston KC3000 is a consumer internal solid state drive with a 1024GB capacity. It uses a Phison E18 controller and 3D TLC memory in an M.2 2280 form factor. A graphene aluminum heat spreader is included for thermal management.
The drive connects through a PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe interface which sets the maximum theoretical bandwidth available to the controller. Sequential reads reach up to 7000 MBps and writes up to 6000 MBps within that constraint. Random performance reaches 900,000 IOPS read and 1,000,000 IOPS write.
The terabytes written figure of 800TB defines the warranted write endurance for this 1024GB model. It is the primary metric for deciding whether the drive suits a given workload. MTBF is rated at 1,800,000 hours.
