The ASRock Rack EP2C621D16-4LP is a dual-socket EEB motherboard built around the Intel C621 chipset for LGA 3647 Xeon processors. It targets data-centre deployments that need high core counts and large memory capacity in a 12 by 13 inch form factor. Sixteen DDR4 DIMM slots and fourteen SATA3 ports provide the density required for virtualisation hosts and storage nodes.
This board suits operators who need two Xeon Scalable CPUs, quad-channel memory and multiple PCIe 3.0 x16 slots for accelerators or network cards. It is not for builds that require more than two sockets, integrated networking faster than 1 GbE, or a form factor smaller than EEB.
The sixteen DDR4 slots set the maximum memory capacity and channel population rules for the platform. Populating all slots with supported RDIMMs or LRDIMMs determines whether the system meets the memory footprint of the target workload.
