The Dell PowerEdge R730 fits a 2U rack space and comes with one Xeon E5-2609 v3 processor running at 1.9 GHz. Eight 3.5-inch drive bays and a PERC H730 SAS controller provide internal storage flexibility. The system includes 384 GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory with capacity for 768 GB maximum. Remote management is handled by iDRAC8 with an Enterprise licence.

Dual 495 W Supplies and Efficient Cooling

Two 495 W power supplies deliver redundancy for continuous operation. The 12th generation chassis design moves air front-to-back across the single CPU and memory modules. Integrated graphics and the Intel I350/X540 network card add minimal thermal load. Fan speeds adjust automatically under typical virtualisation or database loads to keep noise at a manageable level in a server room.

Tool-less Rails and Flexible Drive Configuration

The rack-mount chassis includes tool-less rails for quick installation in standard cabinets. Eight large-form-factor bays accept SATA or SAS drives without adapters.
