Dual Silver 4210R compute density

The Dell EMC PowerEdge R740 packs two 10-core Intel Silver 4210R processors at 2.4 GHz with 13.75 MB cache each into a 2U rack chassis. It ships with 512 GB of DDR4 memory across sixteen 32 GB modules running at 2666 MT/s. This configuration targets virtualisation hosts, database nodes and dense compute clusters that need high core counts and large memory capacity in a standard rack footprint.

H730P RAID and six SSDs ready

The integrated H730P controller manages the six pre-installed 480 GB SATA SSDs with hardware RAID levels and cache-backed write performance. Two 2.5-inch drive bays remain open for capacity expansion or hot-spare deployment. The chassis supports up to eight 2.5-inch drives total, so storage growth stays inside the same 2U enclosure without extra shelves or cabling.

iDRAC9 Enterprise and 10 Gb networking

iDRAC9 Enterprise provides dedicated remote console, power control and firmware update over a separate management port. The NDC module delivers two 10 Gb RJ45 and two 1 Gb RJ45 Ethernet links for production and management traffic segregation. Eight PCIe Gen 3 slots accommodate additional NICs, GPUs or storage controllers. Redundant 1100 W power supplies, rails, bezel and power cords are included.
