The Dell PowerEdge R740 is a 2U rack-mount server built around two Intel Xeon Silver 4208 processors running at 2.1GHz. It ships with 32GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory and a PERC H730P RAID controller. The chassis supports up to eight 3.5-inch SATA drive bays, though no drives are installed. This configuration targets IT teams deploying virtualisation hosts, database nodes or general-purpose compute in a standard rack.

Dual 750W Supplies and iDRAC9 Enterprise

Redundant 750W power supplies feed the dual-socket platform, while the integrated iDRAC9 Enterprise licence provides out-of-band remote management for monitoring, firmware updates and console access. The 10GbE dual-port 562T adapter handles network traffic. No Drives or Rails Included

The server arrives without storage drives, allowing you to populate the eight bays with SATA HDDs or SSDs that match your capacity and performance requirements. A rail kit is available on request but not bundled. BIOS and firmware are updated to the latest stable release before shipment, and each unit undergoes full diagnostics and burn-in testing. Memory expansion can reach 3TB using additional DDR4 modules.
