The Dell Pro Max 16 MC16250 42VDY is a 16 inch laptop built around an Intel Core Ultra 7 255H processor with a dedicated NPU rated for up to 13 TOPS. It ships with 16 GB of DDR5 memory and a 512 GB NVMe solid state drive. Windows 11 Pro comes preinstalled. The Magnetite chassis houses a 1920 x 1200 display and integrated Intel Arc graphics for everyday visual tasks.

The 16 core hybrid architecture combines six Performance cores, eight Efficiency cores and two Low-Power Efficiency cores reaching a 5.1 GHz Max Turbo frequency. This design replaces earlier single-threaded mobile chips when workloads demand simultaneous AI acceleration and background processing. Dual Thunderbolt 4 ports provide 40 Gb/s bandwidth for daisy-chained peripherals and external monitors. The jump is worth it when local NPU throughput matters more than discrete graphics.

Sustained workload behaviour

The NPU handles continuous AI inference while the Efficiency and Low-Power Efficiency cores manage background services without throttling the Performance cores.
