The EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti SC+ Gaming graphics card targets enthusiasts who want high-frame-rate 4K play and VR readiness. It runs on the NVIDIA Maxwell architecture with 2816 CUDA cores, a 1102 MHz base clock and a 1190 MHz boost clock. The 6GB frame buffer uses a 384-bit GDDR5 interface at 7010 MHz effective. Outputs include HDMI 2.0, three DisplayPort 1.2 ports and one dual-link DVI-I.
The factory-fitted ACX 2.0+ cooler and installed backplate replace any need for aftermarket thermal upgrades. The cooler keeps the GPU stable at the 1190 MHz boost clock during extended sessions, while the backplate adds structural rigidity and helps exhaust heat toward the case rear. No extra software or hardware is required to benefit from the thermal solution.
Installation follows the usual PCI Express 3.0 x16 slot procedure with two 8-pin power connectors from the PSU. Drivers for DirectX 12 and OpenGL 4.5 install through the normal NVIDIA package. Common issues are forgetting the second power cable or seating the card incompletely, which causes no-post or throttling. Ensure the case has adequate airflow for the dual-fan design.

The dual-fan ACX 2.0+ design is built for sustained loads, but fan bearings can wear over very long periods; replacement fans are available from EVGA if noise or rpm drift appears.
The GPU reduces clocks when its internal temperature target is reached; the ACX 2.0+ cooler and installed backplate move heat off the 2816 CUDA cores to delay that point.
EVGA rates the ACX 2.0+ as whisper silent; under continuous load the fans ramp up but stay quieter than reference designs while exhausting heat through the dual-slot bracket.
