This aluminum enclosure fits any 2.5" SATA hard drive or SSD and connects through USB 2.0 or USB 3.0. It is aimed at users who want quick external access to a laptop drive without installing it inside a computer. No drive is included in the package.

USB 3.0 and 2.0 headroom

The USB 3.0 link lets the enclosure keep pace with typical SATA SSD and hard-drive read and write speeds. On USB 2.0 the same drives are limited to the older interface's lower throughput. The enclosure does not support 3.5" drives, so desktop-class disks cannot be used.
