The HP ProLiant DL360 Gen9 is a 1U rack server built for space-constrained environments. It ships with a single Intel Xeon E5-2670 v3 twelve-core processor at 2.3 GHz, 4 GB of DDR4 ECC memory and two 1 TB 7.2K SAS drives on a Smart HBA H240ar controller. Dual 500 W redundant power supplies and support for a second CPU provide a foundation for virtualisation, database or web-tier workloads.
The chassis offers 24 DIMM slots and eight 2.5-inch SFF bays, allowing memory to reach 3 TB and additional SAS or SATA drives to be added later. Organisations that need maximum memory capacity or high drive counts from day one should evaluate other platforms. Buyers requiring GPU compute or more than two processors will also need a different form factor.
The installed 4 GB module limits the usable memory to a fraction of the 3 TB maximum until more DDR4 RDIMMs are purchased. This single figure determines whether the server can run production workloads immediately or must be upgraded before deployment.
