The H240ar is pre-installed in the dedicated FlexibleLOM slot; the step often missed is connecting its internal SAS cables to the 8 SFF backplane before powering on.
Each 500 W supply is hot-swap; if one fails, slide it out and insert a replacement while the server stays running — no tools required.
The H240ar caps at 12 Gb/s per SAS lane and 6 Gb/s per SATA lane, so sustained throughput hits the controller’s link speed before the 8-bay backplane saturates.
