Turbo Boost Max 3.0 directs lighter workloads to the fastest cores, raising clocks to 4.3 GHz while keeping power draw lower during burst activity. The 14 nm process and 11 MB L3 cache help efficiency, but sustained all-core loads will push thermals toward the limit without adequate airflow. No heatsink or fan is included in the box.
Moving from a 4-core or 6-core X99 processor adds eight more threads and quad-channel memory bandwidth, cutting render and compile times for video, 3D and code workloads.
