Dual-Port 10 Gbps SFP+ Adapter
The Intel X520-DA2 adds two 10 Gbps SFP+ ports to a desktop or server through a PCI Express x8 slot. It supports fiber or direct-attach copper links and runs on Windows, Linux, VMware ESXi and FreeBSD.
Low-Profile Bracket Included
A low-profile bracket ships in the box so the card fits slim chassis where a full-height bracket would not. No external or internal USB or 1394 ports are present on the board.
IEEE 802.3 Standards Limit Cabling
The card implements IEEE 802.3ae, 802.3ap, 802.3an and 802.3ad, so link distance and media type depend on the SFP+ modules chosen. A PCIe x8 or wider slot is required for installation.

Spørsmål om denne varen
Will the SFP+ transceivers or direct-attach cables need periodic replacement on the X520-DA2?
The adapter has no moving parts; only the SFP+ modules or DAC cables inserted into its two ports may wear over time and can be swapped individually.
What limits sustained throughput first on this dual-port 10 Gbps card?
Each port tops out at 10 Gbps, so the PCIe x8 host interface and the SFP+ link speed are the first bottlenecks under continuous load.
How much heat and noise does the X520-DA2 produce when running all day?
The low-profile card uses a passive heatsink and draws power from the PCI Express slot, so it adds no fan noise and minimal heat to the chassis.
