The LORDWORLD expansion board adds dual-direction DC motor control to any Raspberry Pi model equipped with a 40PIN GPIO header. It targets hobbyists building mobile robots or remote-controlled vehicles who need a single-board driver solution. The onboard Freescale MC33886 H-bridge handles the motor-driving task while the board also supplies regulated power to the Pi itself.
A multi-protection circuit and a 2A self-recovery fuse guard the host board against over-current events. The driver chip includes short-circuit shutdown and undervoltage disable functions, while reversed polarity protection covers the motor outputs and an anti-reverse diode protects the power input. The module accepts a wide 7V to 40V supply and can deliver up to 5A to a single motor.
An integrated 5V regulator powers the Raspberry Pi at up to 2A, removing the need for a separate supply in many builds. The onboard IR receiver enables direct infrared remote control without extra wiring or external modules. Together these functions reduce part count and simplify the electronics stack for DIY robotics projects.
