Pi HQ Camera Development Board

The MCDODO B/3/3B board adapts the official Raspberry Pi HQ Camera module for use with Pi 4, Pi 3, Pi Zero 2 W and earlier Pi models. It bundles a C-to-CS mount adapter and a standard 1/4-20 tripod socket so the IMX477 sensor can be secured in fixed positions. The package includes a 15-22 pin FPC cable for full-size boards and notes that a 22-22 pin cable is required for Zero-series boards. This board serves builders who want the HQ Camera's 4056 by 3040 pixel output on a tripod or C/CS lens system without designing a custom mount. It works with the listed Pi models using the supplied 15-22 pin cable. Buyers who need the 22-22 pin cable for a Zero or Zero 2 W must source that cable separately. Projects requiring the Pi 5's native 22-pin MIPI connector or an integrated compute module carrier are not addressed by this adapter board.

The IMX477 sensor delivers 12.3 megapixels at 4056 by 3040 pixels and provides IR sensitivity for low-light capture. The included C-CS adapter lets you mount either C-mount or CS-mount lenses directly on the board. A standard 1/4-20 tripod thread is also moulded into the board for rigid mounting. These three facts — sensor resolution, lens-mount flexibility and tripod thread — determine whether the board fits the optical and mechanical needs of the project.
