A 90 W, 12 V DC-DC ATX power supply for low-power embedded systems, including P4 cable
The picoPSU-90 is a 90-watt power supply that plugs directly into a motherboard ATX connector and draws power from an external 12 V source. Its tiny footprint makes it suitable for embedded PCs, thin clients and 1 U rack appliances where space is at a premium. Builders using Intel Atom boards or similar low-draw platforms can power the system without a conventional PSU cage. It ships with a P4 auxiliary cable for CPU power.
The unit accepts a single 12 V DC feed and converts it to the ATX rails required by the board. Total continuous output is capped at 90 watts, so the external adapter must supply at least that much power at 12 V. No internal fan is present, meaning airflow in the chassis must carry away the heat generated by the DC-DC conversion. The AT form factor limits compatibility to motherboards with a matching 20-pin main connector.
At 90 watts the supply comfortably runs an Atom processor, memory, solid-state storage and a few onboard peripherals. Adding a dedicated graphics card, multiple spinning drives or high-wattage expansion cards will exceed the rating and cause instability. Systems needing more headroom should consider the 120-watt sibling or a standard ATX power supply. The compact design leaves no room for extra PCIe power connectors.

Choose the 90 W unit if your embedded system draws up to 90 watts from a 12 V source; step up to the 120 W version only when the load regularly exceeds that level.
It is the maximum continuous power the DC-DC converter can deliver to the ATX rails while running from a 12 V input, so the total component draw must stay at or below 90 watts.
It plugs directly into the motherboard's 20-pin ATX socket and draws 12 V DC from an external brick, capping the system to the 90 W output rating of the converter.
