This motherboard uses the AMD A85X chipset with a Socket FM2 design for AMD A10, A8, A6 and A4 processors. It supports dual-channel DDR3 memory up to 64GB across speeds from 1066MHz to 2133MHz with overclocking. The ATX layout provides two PCI Express 2.0 x16 slots, three PCI Express 2.0 x1 slots and two legacy PCI slots for expansion cards.
Under continuous workloads the A85X chipset maintains stable data paths through eight SATA III ports and dual USB 3.0 connections from the chipset itself. Realtek ALC892 audio and RTL8111E gigabit LAN controllers operate independently of the CPU, keeping interrupt latency low during long file transfers or streaming sessions. The board includes a USB 3.0 internal header for front-panel connectivity without sharing bandwidth with rear ports.
Eight SATA III ports share the chipset's native controller, so simultaneous peak throughput on every port is constrained by the internal bus width. The two PCI Express 2.0 x16 slots run at x16 when only the primary slot is populated and drop to x8 each when both are used. Gigabit LAN is limited to 1000Mb/s by the RTL8111E controller's PCI Express 1.0a link.
