The AMD Ryzen 7 2700X is an eight-core, sixteen-thread desktop CPU built on the 12nm Pinnacle Ridge architecture. It targets users who need strong multi-threaded throughput for content creation, compilation or heavy multitasking on a Socket AM4 platform. The unlocked multiplier allows manual frequency tuning when paired with a compatible motherboard. Windows 11 is supported out of the box.

105 W thermal design with no cooler included

The processor carries a 105 W TDP, so a capable aftermarket air or liquid cooler is required to sustain the 4.3 GHz max boost frequency under load. At the 3.7 GHz base clock the chip runs within its power envelope while keeping temperatures manageable for typical workloads. Precision Boost 2 and SenseMI technology adjust voltages and clocks dynamically to balance performance, noise and power draw in everyday use.

AM4 platform with DDR4 and PCIe 3.0 connectivity

The Socket AM4 interface provides dual-channel DDR4 memory support and sixteen PCI Express 3.0 lanes for graphics and high-speed storage. AMD StoreMI can combine an SSD and HDD into a single accelerated volume for faster application launches. Ryzen Master utility gives per-core control and monitoring without leaving the operating system. The OEM package contains the processor only.
